The Backyard, Area A - An Update

When we last left off with Area A, we had just put down some grass seed and we were crossing our fingers that it would take.  Well, low and behold it has!

We have grass!

We have grass, y'all!!! And a few weeds, but that's ok.  I can deal with a few compared to where we started out...

I'm so proud of how far this little area has come.  I wasn't sure at first if we would be able to conquer it ourselves.  I seriously considered hiring out a local crew that does this for a living.  They would have had it done in a weeks time, but for a LOT of money. They would have definitely earned their pay, but I'm so proud to look back now at everything we've done and that we can honestly say that we cleared this area ourselves.  There's still a lot to do though. 


A couple of weeks ago, our renter (who also takes care of the pasture for the cows he has grazing on there) sprayed the wall of weeds for us on the other side of the fence. This weed-spray is deadly, a legit poison, so we've stayed away to keep the boys safe. Last Sunday we drove by after church to check on it, and it was a noticeable brown. So hopefully in the next week or two we can get back out there and start clearing the other side of this fence.
