Spring 2017

As soon as the weather turned warm, we set our sights on cleaning up the property with our main focus being the fence lines. They were pretty well covered in thorn bushes and small trees; most likely deposited there as seeds by fence-setting birds.  Every Saturday we found a couple hours to drive out and do our best to clear a section.
Can you make out the fence?

The farm house and yard are a completely different story.  Up until April 1st, 2017 we had stayed away from this area.  The previous owners were still in residence (renting it back from us until they found a new home) and we didn't want to be disrespectful to their home and privacy.  So we stayed away until taking possession of the farm house.  As per our agreement, they stayed in the home through the winter, and on March 31st turned the keys over to us.  It was a bittersweet day.  We were excited to finally get our hands on the property and to start cleaning it up, but we were sensitive to the fact that this was the home they had started their lives together in, and it had been their home for decades.  I can only imagine the range of emotions they were feeling.

Right before they moved out, this is what the outside of the property looked like.

So, as you can see.  There's a lot of work that needs to be done!
